Abstract

This article analyzes qualitatively and quantitatively the content and features of the private library of Juan Francisco Garisoain (1965- 1750), well known merchant with relevant businesses, including the book, in Spain, Europe and America in the thirties and forties of the XVIII century, and at the same time describes his social and economic environment. Sources include the notarial protocols of the General Archive of Navarre and the sacramental books of the Diocesan Archive of Pamplona.
